This Year's Model Updates:

Audi's rugged allroad quattro receives no changes, but the options list has been simplified. Rather than offering various "convenience," "preferred" and "warm weather" packages, a lengthy list of desirable features, including leather, xenons, sunroof and auto-dimming mirrors have been bundled into a handful of premium packages. A cold weather package includes front and rear seat heaters with a ski sack. The Parktronic parking assist system is now a stand-alone extra, and the rear-facing third-row seat has been deleted from the options list. Finally, for those who find the allroad's twin turbo V6 wanting, Audi is expected to introduce its 4.2-liter V8 sometime in the 2003 calendar year.

Pros:
  • Elegant interior, powerful twin-turbo V6, flexibility of adjustable-height suspension, competent off-road performance.
Cons:
  • High base price, turbo lag, suspension can be harsh over bumps, lousy fuel economy in city driving.

  • I love it, warts and all - 2003 Audi Allroad Quattro

This car is now 7 years old, approaching 100K miles, and still looks and drives like new! I like this car so much Im willing to tolerate its high maintenance; I recently needed a new clutch and brakes; tires last for one year; the 105K maintenance is due soon ($$$). I have owned a BMW X5 and a Subaru Outback with similar functional images, but theres really no comparison to this Audi. Its a silly car in a way: the manual transs first gear is so tall that this car is a clutch-burner off-road and on boat ramps. I use this car to pull a boat trailer, haul bikes, kayaks, camping and skiing equipment, and drive fast, especially in the snow. My adult kids like to borrow it when theyre in town

  • Best Car Ever Made - 2003 Audi Allroad Quattro

I love my Audi Allroad. All of my family and friends cant believe it when they see this car, it is beautiful. It is ULTRA luxury, ULTRA comfort and the nicest car, I have ever owned for what I need - family / sporty enough for a "Guy". It is awesome for my family, trips and just to cruise and it is also a lot of fun when I am alone. Its twin turbo is quick and I have never been so happy and felt so suited with a car for a combination of all my needs and still an unbelievably "hot" car. And if you take trips to the mountain and do any winter driving then this car is a MUST. 5 Stars.

Having owned two Landrover 4.6s and a BMW X5-4.4 in the four years before trying this car, I didnt know whether I would like it. Love it! Quieter, roomier and more reliable than the BMW. Much faster than the Rovers. Kind of funny looking but a great driver and quite quick. Turbos are great in the mountains.

Elegant style, more subtle and comfortable ride than the X5 or ml class. Engine powerful, quiet and smooth, turbo lag is not that apparent once one gets use to the trottle.

  • Better than PORSCHE Cayenne S - 2003 Audi Allroad Quattro
    By -

The allroad offers more amenities for the money, incl. air suspension, rear seat heaters and OnStar, which is extra on the Cayenne S and standard only on the Cayenne Turbo (actually OnStar not available at all). Also the allroads on pavement handling is better and smoother then any of the two Cayennes. They do feel more like trucks. The interior in the allroad also appears to be more understated and elegant. Needless to say the AUDI materials are real, vs the Cayennes painted plastic.

Traded up from an A6 wagon. Liked the A6 but like the Allroad even better, in particular the increased power and general updates. Its a great car.

Just purchased a CPO recently. A truly wonderful car. Love the exterior and interior design. Real comfortable ride, kinda like driving a suped up Caddie. Feels like a bigger vehicle than it appears. Though heavier than most wagons, this gives me a safer feel. Performance has been very suprising so far. Instrumentation is a bit confusion though. Overall, great car.

I bought this excelent built half wagon half SUV for my wike. It was surprising the real sports car performance. Its fast and furious!! the Audi Quatrro sistem gives it a smooth ride. Much Better than my BMW X5 3.0

  • Awesome with some minor adjustments - 2003 Audi Allroad Quattro
    By -

Great car that I love to go to work in. The 1.2hr commute each way is a breeze. Dont like the lag but I have to adjust to it as I did on the ML. Wipers were misaligned. Got that fixed. Noisy and squeeshy brakes - dont like. With bike rack fairing, the buffet-thumpning wind at 45 with open sunroof stopped. No more problems there. OEM tires feathered out at 8500m. Rotated and will need to replace soon already. Stupid accel/resume button for cruise control.

  • Moved up to an Allroad - 2003 Audi Allroad Quattro
    By -

We have put almost 7k miles on this car since we purchased it it the end of Jan. 03. I was originally going to replace my A4 with an A4 Avant, but travel / space requirements moved me up to the Allroad. This vehicles took some time to get used to after my 1.8T. But, driving to Central Oregon through rain, snow, etc. has been a joy. The acceleration through the mountains is fanastic. I was able to pass at times where the A4 required major advanced planning. The family/ friends also appreicate the extra room in the back seat. I have been averaging 20.2 mpg. For the weight of this vehicle, this is not too bad.
